This one is the story that’s most difficult to put on the web, mostly because of its structure. The chapters are not really chapters, more like lengthy sections, and there are actually no chapters.
The novel follows a spacer (“space marine”) named Benoîte and her life on a space station. It is essentially a love story (an LGBT+ one), but there are some buts. The most important probably is that Benoîte’s universe is an unusual one, there is a mysterious disease raging and surviving requires unusual skills from the people. Benoîte, who was not born on Earth but on a space station, does have these skills in abundance, but she is actually quite exceptional.
The story deals not just with love and the disease, but also life in the space station, discrimination, and kindness.
